This survey is for completion by firms with Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) renewal dates on or after 1st April 2020, that have either completed their PII renewal, or are currently in the Extended Policy Period or Cessation Period. The survey is relevant for all with renewal dates on or after 1st April - even where proposal forms were filled in earlier in the year.
The purpose of this exercise is to learn about how the PII renewal process may have been affected by the hardening PII market, as well as COVID-19 and the lockdown. We hope to use what we learn to inform the profession about what to expect in October, and to work with the SRA and the insurance industry to make things easier for solicitors.
All information provided will remain anonymous and best guesses are acceptable if you do not have the exact details available, but if you have information about your two most recent PII renewals at hand, it should make completing the survey more straightforward. The survey should take no longer than around 10 minutes to complete.
